Rutherford Hotel Nelson has appointed Alexander Siebentritt as the site’s new general manager. Siebentritt previously worked as assistant hotel manager at the Heritage Hotels property since 2015 and will replace the late Bevan McGillicuddy.
He will be responsible for managing the hotel’s operations, which has a particular focus on the food and beverage department, featuring two award-winning restaurants.
While working in the assistant manager role, Siebentritt created new wine lists and worked with local suppliers developing strategies to drive more business. Previously, Siebenentritt had worked as general manager of the Tuakau Hotel, restaurant manager at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, and as food and beverage manager at Peppers Manor House in New South Wales.
