DISNEY HIGH TEAS AT CORDIS, AUCKLAND

Cordis, Auckland is bringing the world of Disney to its high teas. Three new high teas are coming to The Lobby Lounge at Cordis, Auckland, inspired by upcoming Disney Studios titles – Christopher Robin, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, and Mary Poppins Returns.  Running from mid-September 2018 to January 2019, each of the High Teas has been reimagined by Cordis Executive Chef Volker Marecek and Executive Pastry Chef Callum Liddicoat to celebrate Disney and the journey of childhood friendship.


Presented on a three-tier stand, Cordis’ first Disney High Tea will be based on the feature film Christopher Robin. It will feature items inspired by the film such as Ashdown Forest fog with Honey Forest tea’ served with dry ice, ‘Piglet’s delight’, a popcorn mousse with salted caramel and caramel popcorn and ‘Pooh’s honeypot’, a honey ganache with lemon curd and honeycomb. Party sandwiches, fluffy scones with artisan jam and clotted cream, and travelling snacks round out the experience, along with coffee and teas of choice as recommended by Cordis, Auckland’s Tea Sommelier.


“We are immensely excited and hope that our High Tea will be an extension of the movie experience and that parents will use this opportunity to introduce their children to the simple art of enjoying tea together – a heartfelt tradition that Cordis honours,” said Marecek.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms-themed High Tea will run from November 16 to December 16, and the Mary Poppins Returns High Tea will go from December 28 to January 31. For each High Tea, the first 100 seats booked will receive a VIP movie ticket at HOYTS Sylvia Park for the respective film.
