New Zealand owned Capstone Hotels & Resorts have been appointed as the management company for Mahana Estates and Villa with immediate effect.
The Mahana Estates owners have stepped back from day to day operations and the Capstone team will take over the management and marketing of the accommodation, event and food and beverage side of the business which includes Mahana Villa, Mahana Kitchen and Cellardoor and Mahana Events.
Mahana winemaking operations and distribution will continue to be managed and marketed by the general manager of Mahana Vineyard, Julian Coakley, and winemaker Michael Glover.

Capstone’s extensive operational experience and tourism marketing expertise will ensure the business is resourced and marketed appropriately for their shift in focus. The diversification into the tourism sector with the opening of Qualmarked Luxury Lodge Mahana Villa brings a further exciting dimension to the Mahana brand and we have already begun the process of engaging with the luxury travel sector on behalf of the property,” Capstone managing director Clare Davies said.
Mahana Estates Wine produces a wide range of certified organic wines from its three Tasman Bay vineyards, and the gravity fed winery also plays host to numerous weddings and events throughout the year.
