LANGHAM AUCKLAND TO REBRAND TO CORDIS

Driven by ever-rising tourist numbers to New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland’s iconic Langham Hotel will undergo a facelift and will be rebranded as the Cordis Auckland. The introduction of the Cordis brand to Auckland will be the first in the Pacific, and is due to take place on November 1.

From July 11, all 411 rooms will be renovated, as well as the lobby lounge and exclusive club lounge. The renovations, which will take place floor by floor, are expected to be finished by February 2018. New Zealand based design firm, Space Studio, is the appointed interior designers for the refurbishment project.

“Our hotel in Auckland fits the Cordis brand perfectly,” said Robert Warman, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group. “It is well located in the vibrant part of the city, a top-of-mind venue for meetings and events, a favourite for special occasions amongst the locals, and we have experienced colleagues who provide warm and friendly service from the heart.”

“Our plan is to introduce and grow the Cordis brand in [the Pacific], which is seeing increasing numbers of leisure and corporate travellers year on year. Each Cordis is individual in style, architecture and design, all of which will be reflective of its location, local culture and is tailored to the requirements of our guests, from corporate travellers, honeymooners and families,”

The Cordis brand, Latin for ‘heart’, already operates in China, Hong Kong and Bali.
