Hotels.com has announced the winners of its ‘Loved by Guests Awards 2018’. New Zealand hotels performed well in this year’s awards, with 30 New Zealand hotels appearing in the ‘Most Wanted’ category. Hotels must average a 9.4 rating across all its user reviews for consideration in the ‘Most Wanted’ category.
ArtHouse Bed & Breakfast in Matamata received a perfect 10.0 rating from guests, one of only 22 hotels in the world to do so. South Island hotels dominated the Most Wanted list - Christchurch, Nelson and Queenstown all had four places with a rating of 9.4 or higher. Dunedin was not far behind either, with three Most Wanted hotels.
The South Island also cleaned up in category awards, in which hotels from across the world are awarded ‘best for’ in the classes luxury, spa and ski. Of the twelve New Zealand winners in the category awards, the South Island won all but two of the awards - both taken by Auckland hotels in the luxury department.
