PERSONAL RUGBY TRAINING AT FIJIAN RESORT

Nanuku Auberge Resort in Fiji has revealed a unique rugby training program for guests.

Participants of the Nanuku Raka Rugby Program will be able to experience a personal coach taking them through training regimes similar to the Fiji sevens team did before they won an Olympic Gold Medal in Rio de Janeiro. The training will include aerobic exercises, gym sessions, sports massages, beach runs and daily scrimmages against local teams to get real-world playing experience.

The Fijian Sevens team gets presented with gold medals at the Rio games.

“At Nanuku we make authentic connections between our guests and our culture, and the introduction of this program focuses on taking visitors off resort grounds and out of their comfort zones to learn, sweat and create a soulful discovery of their own,” Nanuku Auberge Resort General Manager said.

The Nanuku Rugby Program begins each day with participants going to the Pacific Harbour grounds, located just a few minutes from the resort. Guests will then be taken to beach boot camps, followed by intensive hikes through exotic locations like indigenous jungles. The day’s training concludes with a friendly game against the local village or resort rugby team.

Once all the action is over, guests returning to the resort will enjoy a 60-minute spa massage at the location’s Lomana Spa, relieving any tension or sore spots to prepare for the next day’s activities.
