The subterranean, InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is opening its doors in the last quarter of 2018.
Of the luxury property’s 18 floors, 15 are below ground level reaching 88 metres below ground, two of which will offer rooms with views of a saltwater aquarium.
The InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is being developed by Shimao Group, costing approximately US$500 million, with a construction area of more than 61,000 square metres. The unconventional design challenges the common high-rising hotel design while also showing off the landscape of the quarry it's housed in.
