Forbes Travel Guide reveals 2019 Star Award Winners

Reception at The Langham, Chicago.

Forbes unveiled its annual Travel Guide and Star Award Winners.

To determine the top experiences, the judges checked into hotel rooms for at least two nights, posing as ordinary guests. The properties were measured on a variety of standards covering everything from whether a staff member greets you within 30 seconds of arrival to whether housekeeping arranges toiletries properly.

The Peninsula Hotels was the biggest winner, with all ten of its properties achieving five-star status. The Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park, London also notably made the list after the property was set back by a fire in June 2018.

Also, among the winners were three Langham Hospitality Group hotels which were rated five-star.

“I would like to congratulate our hotels in London, Chicago and Hong Kong who have met the most stringent requirements to achieve the coveted five-star rating by Forbes Travel Guide,” said Stefan Leser, chief executive officer, Langham Hospitality Group.

“This is a strong testament to the high service standards and innovative experiences our luxury hotels consistently deliver.”
