Auckland inner-city suburb backpackers on the market

Freemans backpackers

A backpacker lodge on the fringes of Auckland’s city centre has been placed on the market for sale.

Freemans Backpackers Lodge in Freemans Bay has been operating for 15 years, maintaining an 80 percent occupancy rate during the 2017/18 financial year.

“Freemans Backpackers Lodge is a stereotypical backpackers accommodation – catering to the budget end of the free independent traveller market, and last financial year generated a net income of $180,000,” said Stuart Bode, salesperson, Bayleys Auckland.

The business is run by a full-time manager who lives on-site.  The lodge has five double bedrooms, two six-bed dormitories, a four-bed dormitory, two twin bedrooms, three single-bedrooms and a family suite.

As well as the rooms, the sale includes all kitchen whiteware, bedding and lounge furniture, the lodge’s name rights and all further bookings.
