New Holiday Inn coming to south-east Melbourne

A Holiday Inn & Suites is coming to the south-east Melbourne suburb of Dandenong. Part of a mixed-use development, the 160-room hotel will rise 11 levels high.

The project is hotel developer Martyn Barnes’ third hotel to be signed with an IHG brand.

“As the heart of Melbourne’s south-east region, some might say Dandenong has it all, but I would say it doesn’t have a great hotel yet,” said Martyn Barnes, managing director, Barnes Capital.

“Holiday Inn Melbourne Dandenong will be an important component of the government’s Revitalising Central Dandenong project, and we’re so proud to support it. I expect it to be the new home-away-from-home for the thriving business, industrial and public-sector community.”

In May 2018 Barnes announced he would bring the Holiday Inn brand to Melbourne’s hipster suburb of Coburg and then later revealed he would bring the new IHG brand voco to Yarra Valley.

Holiday Inn Melbourne Dandenong plans to open in 2021.
