The former Waimate Hotel in the Canterbury town’s main street is undergoing extensive renovations.
Businessman Gary Rooney plans to reopen the property as a restaurant.
In 2018, Rooney announced multiple projects in the town, including the redevelopment of the hotel and two neighbouring buildings.
The project doesn’t have an expected date for completion, but the aim is for it to be completed within the next couple of months.
