Rydges Wellington has appointed Marcus Keenan as incoming Hotel Manager.
Keenan joins Rydges from his position as General Manager at Heritage Auckland, which he held since April 2014. Prior to joining Heritage, he spent 4 months as Acting Resident Manager at Heritage Christchurch, after its post-earthquake reopening. Keenan also spent 8 years as General Manager of the Heritage Rotorua, and worked for 3 years at hotels in the United Kingdom.

Simon White, General Manager Operations New Zealand for EVENT Hotels & Resorts, praised Keenan's experience in a statement. "With over two decades of hotel management experience both nationally and internationally," White said, "Marcus will be a truly wonderful asset for Rydges Wellington."
Keenan has also been involved in several boards, holding the chair position of the New Zealand Hotel Council for the Rotorua Region. "I look forward to this next chapter in my career working at Rydges Wellington," he said in a statement. "The hotel is ideally positioned amid the pulse of the vibrant capital, not to mention their multi-award-winning restaurant Portlander.”
