TWO DEAD AS PLANNED NEW ORLEANS HOTEL COLLAPSES

A hotel in New Orleans collapsed over the weekend mid-construction, resulting in two confirmed deaths and one missing person.

The planned Hard Rock Hotel in the Louisiana city's historic French Quarter collapsed shortly after 9 am on Saturday. Emergency workers entered the building that afternoon.

Authorities confirmed around 20 people were taken to hospital for treatment, but all were considered stable. One man who had been unaccounted for was later found to have been taken to hospital.

The building was under construction on the corner of Rampart Street and Canal Street. One man captured the collapse on camera.
