Hilton Darwin has won the Gold Plate Restaurant of the Year award for its signature dining outlet, PepperBerry Restaurant. The restaurant has also been recognised as Best Contemporary Restaurant and Best Hotel Restaurant. The Gold Plate awards are the Northern Territory’s premier restaurant and dining accolades, and the win was announced in front of 500 owners, operators, staff and supporters on Monday, 30 August.
“After launching PepperBerry amidst pandemic-related challenges, it is incredibly rewarding that our signature restaurant has won three Gold Plate Awards, which are highly-regarded by the NT community,” said Markus Kaliss, General Manager, Hilton Darwin.
I am very lucky to have such a wonderful team who pride themselves on consistently delivering fantastic service to our customers and continuously go above and beyond.
“We are proud that we managed to create a dining destination for the local market and that this award recognised the efforts to cater not only for our hotel guests but for the entire Darwin community,” he added.
PepperBerry opened after Hilton Darwin emerged from a significant refurbishment in 2020. Since opening, Executive Chef Fiona Weir and her team have set high standards for PepperBerry’s menu, creative events, wine list and service.
“Having a high-class restaurant within one of the city’s best hotels, Hilton Darwin is an exciting facet to Darwin’s dining scene. Executive Chef Fiona and General Manager Markus are fantastic contributors to the NT’s hospitality industry, both very passionate about local produce and great customer experiences,” said Alex Bruce, CEO, Hospitality NT.
The award-winning restaurant is also currently ranked #3 Restaurants in Darwin on Tripadvisor based on the number of positive reviews left by Tripadvisor users.
