The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs has planned some wonderful summer festivities this holiday season, announcing two four-night inclusive itineraries for family and friends to enjoy.
Itinerary 1: A Merry Kauri Cliffs Christmas
With the gracious main lodge adorned with holiday decorations and overflowing with Christmas spirit and freshly baked treats, the first of the holiday celebrations kicks off the night before Christmas as guests relax and mingle piano-side for pre-dinner carols, canapes and cocktails.On Christmas Day, lodge activities abound, including a friendly hit of tennis at the annual Round-Robin tournament, followed by a family-style lunch. For those wanting to enjoy the spectacular 6000-acre Kauri Cliffs farm with its beautiful pohutukawa trees in full bloom, picnics can be packed to enjoy on adventures.
As the sun sets and the lodge glows, Kauri Cliffs brigade of chefs will wow diners with a special five-course Christmas dinner, mixing some traditional festive favourites with some seasonal and contemporary dishes.
The next day, and for those wishing to partake, the Boxing Day Golf Challenge is sure to be social, convivial and suitable for golfers of all skill levels.
Itinerary 2: Ringing in 2022 at Kauri Cliffs
2021 almost behind us surely calls for extra grand celebrations! Kauri Cliffs will be bidding adieu to the year that was and welcoming the exciting promise that 2022 brings.
After guests have had a day to settle in and enjoy the summer activities Kauri Cliffs offers, the bonhomie truly begins that evening in the main lodge, with champagne and cocktails before the special five-course dinner, exquisitely designed by Chef Jonathan Rogers, is enjoyed. Add to this live musical entertainment and a warm and splendid lodge setting, and the recipe is set for a fabulous night.
The good times continue on New Year’s Day with the infamous Kauri Cliffs BBQ dinner on Pink Beach, featuring fresh local seafood, prime cuts of New Zealand meats, favourite New Zealand wines and delicious summer desserts in the prettiest of alfresco settings, with views out across the Pacific Ocean.
Other optional included activities over the four days are a sunset putting competition, a convivial golf tournament, a tennis challenge and a New Year’s Day brunch with Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas.
After four nights of relaxed “lodge life” fun on either of these holiday itineraries, a late check-out ensures a gentle ease back into the world outside, no doubt with a dream of doing it all again.

Kauri Cliffs are accepting Christmas and New Year’s reservations now. Tariffs for either itinerary start from NZ$13,440 + GST for two guests inclusive of four nights accommodation (double occupancy), breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, pre-dinner cocktail receptions and activities including the lodge organised tennis and golf tournaments.
For larger family groups, tariffs for the two-bedroom Owner’s Cottage (four guests) and the three four-Bedroom Residences (up to eight guests each) are available on request.
