Europe’s oldest global luxury hotel group, Kempinski Hotels, has been honoured with the prestigious 2022 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA), which recognises the most engaged workplace cultures worldwide.
The pandemic has continued to bring unprecedented uncertainty to the workplace throughout the year. While some businesses either slowed down or hit a pause button amid the disruption, Kempinski remained true to its organisational values and showed commitment to its people.
As an award winner, Kempinski is now on par with many elite organisations around the world and, in fact, amongst the first European companies to ever win the award.

The Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award is Gallup’s most sought after award for companies with engaged workplaces after it was created in 2007. This prestigious award aims to acknowledge and celebrate employers that successfully foster a culture of engagement and honour thriving organisations that have accomplished world-class performance via the incorporation of engagement into their business strategies. Recipients of the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award consistently put their people, both employees and customers, and their values at the heart of decision-making.
“Receiving this recognition, is not just about having a good engagement score, but rather about organically creating and maintaining a culture that revolves around the employee experience and wellbeing. Companies must comply with a stringent set of requirements to even qualify as nominees, and achievement by itself, and a panel of judges which review all applications and complete the selection of winners,” added Salibi.
After having taken first place in the Travel and Leisure Industry on Forbes World’s Best Employers List 2021, this prestigious Gallup award is the newest addition to Kempinski’s portfolio of impressive achievements and highlights not only the collective commitment to developing talents but also creating a workplace culture centred around community.
