Waldorf Astoria Makes Landmark Debut in Australia

One of Hilton’s iconic luxury brands, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, is on its way to growing its global footprint with expansion into Australia, marked by the signing of Waldorf Astoria Sydney.

Set to open its doors in early 2025, Hilton is bringing its premium brand to Sydney’s Iconic Circular Quay, one of the prime harbourside sites in Sydney, offering unparalleled views of famous landmarks and attractions.

With the commencement of construction, the 220-room luxury hotel will be joining an extensive portfolio of more than 30 iconic properties, each globally renowned for its personalised service, landmark locations and culinary expertise. There are currently an additional 20 Waldorf Astoria properties in the development pipeline.

“As the first Waldorf Astoria property to debut in Australia, Waldorf Astoria Sydney signals Hilton’s commitment to expanding our luxury portfolio to the world’s most sought-after destinations,” said Nils-Arne Schroeder, vice president, Luxury & Lifestyle, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “Our highly personalised, elegant service and iconic environments are at the heart of every hotel, and we look forward to delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests in Sydney.”

Iconic Quayside Location

Located in the heart of Australia’s eastern metropolis at 1 Alfred Street, the hotel provides easy access to many shopping destinations and famous attractions, including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens and Museum of Contemporary Art.

Timeless Design

Tokyo based architecture company Kengo Kuma & Associates and Sydney-based Crone Architects will be responsible for the architecture of Waldorf Astoria Sydney. They will mix contemporary living with avant-garde design across the building’s 179 guestrooms and 41 suites. As guests step foot into the hotel, Walford Astoria Sydney will emit a sense of lightness and serenity combined with a touch of elegance and luxury.

Culinary Excellence

The Waldorf Astoria brand is committed to providing world-class culinary experiences. The new luxury hotel will celebrate Sydney with two bespoke restaurant concepts and a rooftop bar overlooking the Sydney Harbour.

True Waldorf Service

Through dedicated personal concierges, each Waldorf Astoria Sydney team member will offer unmatched personalised service with access to exclusive and luxurious offerings.
