Auckland’s Elemental AKL is back this July with a captivating programme of arts, eats and beats. This year Cordis Auckland is inviting guests to indulge in a spectacular winter-themed ‘edible table’ High Tea, curated by its visionary chefs on 30 July 2022 from 5 pm - 7 pm.
The one-time-only event begins with nibbling on some petals from a selection of four edible flowers carefully placed on the table – cornflowers, calendula, pansies, and ornamental kale.

Next are savoury treats. Think delightful small bites such as truffle tuiles with whipped brie and caramelised walnuts, winter leaves with duck ham and golden raisin puree, smoked salmon profiterole, whole roasted beetroot with goat cheese flan and pickled golden beet, smoked lamb with yoghurt and crispy eggplant, and last but certainly not least, Meyer gouda crème brûlée with onion caramel glaze.
For dessert, guests are encouraged to get their hands dirty with an edible gingerbread house. Once inside, there will be an explosion of flavours, including a pear cupcake, little apple tarte tartin, rhubarb and vanilla magnum deep in white chocolate, and citrus baba with vanilla Chantilly, to name a few.
A tea cocktail or mocktail accompanied by the sounds of a live harp completes the unique experience.
