Outrigger’s Sean Dee Named Marketing Professional of the Year

The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has named Sean Dee, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Outrigger Hospitality Group, the Marketing Professional of the Year for 2022.

The award recognises the best of marketing in the hospitality industry during HSMAI's Marketing Strategy Conference in Florida, where senior leaders in hotel marketing gather to discuss the most important strategic issues facing the sector.

The recognition is a testament to Dee's efforts to further position Outrigger Hospitality Group as the top beach resort company worldwide.

"It's certainly humbling to receive this recognition, but I truly believe it's a team award," said Dee. "I'm extremely proud of the commercial team we've assembled here at Outrigger, and I'm honoured to serve them."

Dee oversees the marketing, brand, revenue management and sales strategies for Outrigger's global portfolio of 33 properties across Hawai'i, Fiji, Mauritius, Thailand and the Maldives. Currently, he is also board chair for the Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau and board vice president for the Henry Kapono Foundation. Before this, he served the state of Hawai'i as a member of the board of directors for the Hawai'i Tourism Authority between 2014 and 2019, chairing numerous committees.
