The Carlin Joins Small Luxury Hotels Of The World

Queenstown’s The Carlin is the first New Zealand hotel to be accepted into the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) network following the opening of New Zealand borders.

The Carlin Boutique Hotel, which opened in April, has joined the exclusive network, which includes only 520 hotels worldwide and a curated selection of four New Zealand hotels within the group.

The latest international milestone for the ‘beyond five-star’ hotel follows the recent mention of The Carlin in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places, included in the Queenstown feature within the annual list.

“Independently-spirited; intuitive, personalised service; attention to detail; bespoke experiences – are a few of the strong characteristics that define luxury as we know it at SLH, and The Carlin checks out in all aspects. Coupled with its scenic location of one of New Zealand’s most iconic views, The Carlin is well-placed to be the choice destination for our luxury guests seeking ultimate discretion. We are delighted to welcome The Carlin into our brand portfolio,” said Mark Wong, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, SLH.

The Carlin developer and majority shareholder Kevin Carlin said he is proud that his hotel was invited to be considered for SLH.

“Being invited and accepted into the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network is a major milestone for The Carlin, especially so soon after opening,” said Carlin. “SLH opens up opportunities to reach high net worth and discerning travellers, which is a huge positive for Queenstown and the luxury tourism market across New Zealand.”
