HMD Asia has partnered with Kathmandu-based Sherpa Hospitality Group to open a 29-suite Shinta Mani Mustang - a Bensley Collection luxury lodge on 1 March 2023.
The resort's Tibetan name, "Mustang", translates to "Plain of Aspiration" and draws inspiration from its bordering Tibetan plateau that rises from 1,372 to 8,167 metres above sea level.
Measuring 45 square meters each, the suites are designed in the style of traditional Tibetan homes with an open-plan bedroom combined with a living space and a separate bathroom. They also feature floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the Nilgiri mountain.
Facilities include a restaurant with a large outdoor dining patio, a bar, a wellness centre with two treatment suites, a hot plunge pool, a steam room, sauna and shower, and a mixed-use meeting and events space.
A selection of unique excursions invites guests to embark on a different daily trip for up to two weeks, from trekking, horse riding, rock climbing, cycling, archery, hiking, and helicopter tours to wellness and more.
Shinta Mani's philosophy emphasises giving back to the communities in which they operate. Aligned with this, the Shinta Mani Mustang will work closely with the Psang Lhamu Foundation, which the owning family established after their mother became the first Nepalese woman to trek to the summit of Mt Everest in 1993.
