Pipeline: Moxy Aarhus

Moxy Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio of 30 notable brands, has confirmed its second location in Denmark. With Danish operator Core Hospitality and local developer A. Enggaard, Marriott International will bring the lifestyle brand Moxy Hotels to Aarhus in 2026.

Located in the heart of a new district that is being developed with a focus on assembling culture, business, and entrepreneurship, Moxy Aarhus will boast a central location close to the main train station and the largest mall in the city.

Perched on top of local shops, the hotel will feature a reception, bar, and lounge on the second floor, which can be accessed directly via the Coal Bridge, Aarhus's answer to New York's High Line. Outside the lounge, a large terrace will invite guests to enjoy drinks from the bar and a view of the vibrant urban surroundings, which is also being developed by A. Enggaard.

Marriott's First Hotel Outside of Copenhagen

Moxy Hotels first debuted on the Danish market in 2019 when the same Danish operator, Core Hospitality, opened a 226-room hotel in Copenhagen. The international brand is now expanding the range and quality of hotel options in Aarhus. It will be the first Marriott-owned brand opening outside of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Moxy Aarhus is poised to increase the overall value of the chain in Denmark and strengthen its offering of the world's largest loyalty programme, Marriott Bonvoy, to domestic travellers.

Local operator, international brand

Developer A. Enggaard has chosen to collaborate with Core Hospitality, a white-label hotel management company that is the favoured operator of Moxy Hotels in Scandinavia. Aarhus will be the hotel operator's fourth Moxy hotel and sixth Marriott hotel to open. While the hotels are associated with an international company, the hotel operations are local.
