Featuring The Best Of Japanese Cuisine

Japan

Japan's Food Export Fair registration is now open and the event will showcase Japan's best, with a significant feature of the fair centred around Japanese food.

Why Japan's Food is a segment of the fair dedicated to the increased popularity of Japan's food. In 2013, UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) registered Washoku, traditional Japanese cuisine, as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The popularity of Japanese food among consumers can be attributed to the cuisine's renowned reputation as health-conscious. The UNFA (The United Nations Population Fund) 2022 report highlights the cuisine as having the highest life expectancy globally.

With consumers becoming increasingly more knowledgeable and concerned with the nutritional value of their food, Japanese food's health benefits have added to the cuisine's appeal. This is attributed to the nutrient-rich components of Japanese food as well as healthier cooking methods. This diet can help prevent diseases, slow aging, and extend healthy lifespans.

Furthermore, the export of Japanese food increased by 14 percent in 2022 from the previous years, revealing the cuisines growing global popularity. Coupled with the growing number of Japanese restaurants being launched globally, the specialisation in Japanese food at the fair will be an opportunity to see what further potential the Japanese food market has to offer globally.
