New Check In Times For Jetstar Flights

Jetstar has announced new check-in times, as part of a plan devised to assist with flights departing on time. The changes, which will be implemented on Tuesday, 23rd of May, mean that check-in and bag drop services will close 40 minutes before departing for domestic flights in New Zealand and Australia, and 60 minutes prior to international flights.

The changes also include the closure of boarding gates 20 minutes before departure for both domestic and international flights This means that all check in-times will match other low-cost carriers in Australia and overseas. Customers will be updated via email and text message, on the Jetstar website, and on signage in the terminals.

Jetstar's Chief Operating Officer, Matt Franzi, said that the airlines performance hasn’t been up to scratch and it is working hard to boost punctuality and reliability. Franzi also noted the new Airbus A321neo fleet would help on improving its service.

“Our Airbus A321neo LRs are some of the newest aircraft in the world and our current fleet of six has delivered world-beating mechanical reliability for its aircraft type. We are excited to be adding the seventh NEO to our fleet," said Franzi.

To improve performance, Jetstar is also recruiting more airport staff, cabin crew and engineering team members.

“Everyone across the airline is committed to getting Jetstar to its best while delivering the lowest possible fares so our customers can fly to more places, more often.”
