Diversity Awards Recognise Inclusive Workplaces

Finalists for the 2023 Diversity Awards New Zealand have been announced, acknowledging the work of 33 entrants. The awards aim to promote and advance a culture of belonging in workplaces throughout the country.

From the hotel sector, Hind Management and Sudima Hotels have been nominated for the Leadership Award, with fellow nominees George Weston Foods, the New Zealand Defence Force, and Plant and Food Research New Zealand.

Chief Executive of Diversity Works New Zealand, Maretha Smit, said that selecting finalists was a difficult task, with an astounding range of entries in terms of depth and breadth.

“The submissions this year demonstrated a better understanding of the awards categories and criteria, and included an array of evidence demonstrating the positive impact this mahi is having on the culture of organisations and the experience of the people who work within them,” said Smit.

The judging panel has focussed on looking into the future as the next step of the process, with finalist interviews and visits providing a greater insight into the organisations and the work they are doing to provide such a positive outcome.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Auckland on Wednesday, 30th of August.
