Radisson Open Luxury Winter Hotel

Radisson Hotel Group has opened Radisson Hotel Sonamarg, the seventh operational hotel in the Jammu and Kashmir region.

The new location is surrounded by a picturesque valley, bordered by snow-capped mountains. The hotel is located in close proximity to Srinagar International Airport and Mandi Bus Station, with plenty of spacious parking onsite.

Managing director and area vice president, Zubin Saxena, said that the company is constantly expanding its portfolio to ensure quality hospitality for travellers.

“We foresee Radisson Hotel Group’s next phase of growth through a diversified presence, and to translate this goal, we bring Radisson Hotel Sonamarg to Jammu and Kashmir. Our brand-new hotel will give guests a greater experience in one of India’s most-preferred holiday and leisure destinations,” said Saxena.

The hotel is complete with spacious rooms, offering deluxe, junior suite, and executive suite room options. Due to the ever-changing climate of the area, all rooms have been equipped with climate control functions to ensure the rooms are either as warm or cool to the guest's preference. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, Riwayat, offers chef’s signature dishes inspired by Kashmiri flavours, such as grilled trout or mutton rogan josh, along with a special selection for children.

Managing director of the hotel, Waseem Mushtaq Gani, said that the opening is a matter of great honour for the group and the region.

“Our partnership commenced in 2017 with the opening of Radisson Srinagar, and together we aim to create an exceptional guest experience that raises the benchmark for the industry. We admire the commitment and professionalism of RHG, and I have no doubt that this collaboration will result in significant growth of the hotel sector in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Mushtaq Gani.

Radisson is now one of the largest hotel operators in the Indian Market, with over 150 hotels in operation or development. In tier-one markets, such as Delhi NCR, Radisson Hotel Group is the largest hotel operator. More than 50 percent of its portfolio is in tier-two or tier-three categories.
