A new five-star Pullman hotel will debut in Penrith on Friday, 11th of August. The hotel will be the first five-star accommodation venue in the area.
The western Sydney suburb will now be home to the new $110 million precinct, as well as 153 guest rooms, an upscale Europen-inspired bar and bistro, a lobby bar, and a wellness and fitness centre. The hotel is expected to appeal to both corporate and leisure travellers and is ideally located nearby the new Western Sydney Airport, which is under construction.
Accor Pacific chief executive officer, Sarah Derry, said that the new hotel would be an excellent addition to the company’s portfolio, and it has showcased the promise of the Pullman brand.
“With its prime location in Penrith, guests can expect a unique experience that combines the tranquillity of the Blue Mountains with the vibrant energy of Sydney. We are confident that Pullman Sydney Penrith will elevate the hospitality landscape in the region and provide an unforgettable stay for both business and leisure travellers,” said Derry.
Architecture and design studio, Turner, has been behind the new precinct. The design is said to be inspired by the nearby Nepean River, complete with reflective panels and a ribbon-like shape. A sculpture depicting the river’s importance as a food source to First Nations Dharug people has also been included in the project, as well as the Warami Community Centre.

The development process saw an extensive landscaping undertaking, with more than 75 trees and 8,000 plants, most of which are native, have been planted with an aim to connect guests with nature.
The hotel itself boasts an impressive collection of commissioned paintings by various artists, including acclaimed award-winning Aboriginal Australian artist, Gloria Petyarre, and Archibald-prize-winner, John Olsen.
Pullman Sydney Penrith and Western Sydney Conference Centre General Manager, Glen Erickson, said that the company believe in giving people a great night's sleep, with the hope that the new hotel will be able to cater for that and much more.
“Our unique sleep therapy services offer a way for our guests to discover their best sleep yet,” said Erickson.
The hotel has implemented a focus on health and wellbeing, and has a bespoke sleep therapy menu available on the in-room tablet ordering system. The aim of the custom menu is to allow guests to order everything from face masks to aromatherapy pillow sprays. The rooms are also equipped with a selection of background sounds, colours, and room lighting settings to best cater to the individual needs of each guest.
