Australia’s newest luxury destination, The Langham Gold Coast, has partnered with the beloved Paddington Bear from Darkest Peru to bring the ultimate afternoon tea experience to life, available from 24 August 2023, including over the September School Holidays.
Drawing inspiration from Paddington's love for delightful treats and heart-warming escapades, the specially curated menu has included a selection of finger sandwiches and sweet desserts that capture the timeless essence of Paddington's adventures.
Executive pastry chef, Johann Vanier, said that he has taken inspiration from the Paddington storybooks for the menu.
"From meticulously crafted marmalade-infused delicacies to intricately designed pastries reminiscent of Paddington's Darkest Peru origins, our Paddington-inspired afternoon tea offers an immersive experience that marries nostalgia with exquisite flavours, said Vanier.
The afternoon tea will be hosted in The Langham’s highly acclaimed Palm Court. In tribute to The Langham's British heritage, Paddington has donned a bespoke duffle coat in The Langham’s signature pink hue, which is also available to purchase as a limited edition ‘plush Paddington Bear’ soft toy in Flavours of Langham at the hotel, making for a very special keepsake.
For those seeking a complete overnight immersion in the adventure, The Langham, Gold Coast has offered an exclusive Paddington-themed room package, with an array of Paddington Bear branded items, such as pillowcases, bed runners, cushion covers, tepee tents, children's bathrobes, and slippers, transforming the stay into a cherished Paddington-themed memory.
General manager of The Langham, John O’Shea, said that the collaboration between Paddington Bear and The Langham has brought two renowned heritage brands together in the celebration of British culture.
“This unique afternoon tea experience promises to be a highlight for both visitors and locals, offering an experience for those wanting to take a walk down memory lane within the luxurious surroundings of The Langham's Palm Court,” said O’Shea.
Prices start at $109 for weekday service and $119 for weekend service.
