Hilton has announced plans to open its first property in the city of Lille. Occupying a prime location in the city centre, the 124-guest-room Hilton Lille will continue to welcome guests and trade as a Hilton-affiliated hotel before fully rebranding under Hilton Hotels and Resorts in 2024, following a multimillion-euro renovation.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that Hilton’s portfolio in France is on a steep growth trajectory.
“We now have more than 45 hotels trading or under development. This growth is fuelled by demand for our brands, allowing us to develop our portfolio of properties in a number of important destinations. Lille is a thriving market, and Hilton Lille will be an exciting arrival when it welcomes guests next year,” said Fitzgibbon.
Hilton Lille will offer stylish, upscale accommodation in the heart of Lille, appealing to both business and leisure travellers. Features will include Europa, the hotel’s restaurant complete with a mezzanine seating area, the COOPER bar serving a range of refreshments, and a fully-equipped fitness centre. Investment in the hotel will also see the addition of a new executive lounge area with complimentary food and refreshments. Hilton Lille will also boast 360 square meters of meeting space set across seven meeting rooms, ideal for events, conferences and social engagements.
The metro area of Lille is home to one of the largest populations in France, with more than a million residents, making the city a dynamic cultural and economic focal point in Northern France. Lille Europe train station, a short walk from the hotel, is a major transport hub serving passengers from Amsterdam, London and Brussels, as well as key cities across France, including Paris, just an hour away. As well as its close proximity to the train station, the hotel will be situated in the city centre, allowing guests easy access to the charming cobblestone streets of Old Lille and its Grand Place, the Grand Palais Congress Centre and the Zenith Arena. Guests of Hilton Hotels and Resorts and all of Hilton's 22 world-class brands will benefit from the award-winning Hilton Honors guest loyalty programme, which offers its more than 173 million members who book directly with Hilton to earn Points and unlock perks, including hotel stays. Members also have access to contactless technology exclusively through the industry-leading app, where members can check in, choose their room and access their room using Digital Key.
