QT Hotels Get Inked For Movember

QT Hotels in New Zealand will transform their signature bars into pop-up tattoo parlours during November in the name of men's mental health.

Sydney-based celebrity tattoo artist, Lauren Winzer, will travel across the ditch for Inked, a series of events taking place across QT’s three New Zealand hotels.

Inked will see each hotel host a day of tattoos, art, music and food to raise funds for Movember, a global charity which aims to drive awareness and support for men’s mental health.

Movember is a portmanteau of moustache and November, highlighting the charity’s signature campaign where men grow moustaches during the month of November to spark conversations and draw attention to men’s health issues.

Local artists will join the lineup alongside Winzer, who has tattooed an impressive array of celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Sophie Turner, Kelly Rowland, and Joe Jonas.

Auckland’s king of fine-line, Tri of Tri-Lines and Evander from Two Hands Tattoo Studio will be tattooing at QT Auckland whilst award-winning artists Rua Toto and Jeremy Hill from Otautahi Tattoo Studio will join the Queenstown event.

Flash tattoos have been designed exclusively for each hotel, with 100 percent of the tattoo proceeds going to Movember.

“I’m so excited to be coming to New Zealand and partnering with QT Hotels on this initiative,” said Winzer. “Tattoos have the power to tell stories, and by getting a tattoo at Inked, you’ll be getting a piece of art that shows support for a cause that truly matters.”

For those not ready for a new piece of ink, the events will have entertainment, speciality cocktails, and food menus that will donate a portion of proceeds to Movember, so everyone can get involved.

To further bolster fundraising efforts, QT Hotels has partnered with Michter’s Distillery. A menu of signature American whiskey and bourbon-based cocktails will be available at signature bars throughout November, where $2 of every cocktail sold will be donated to the cause.
