Gold Coast to Host International Chef

T’ang Court at The Langham, Gold Coast, has shared its delight in welcoming Executive Chef Tony Su of Michelin-starred T’ang Court Shanghai, Xintiandi – to introduce ‘An Evening with Tony Su,’ available for a limited time; diners can secure their reservations from February 24th to March 1st, 2024.

Inspired by its acclaimed sister establishments throughout Asia, this exquisite dining experience promises a specially crafted menu, showcasing the authentic flavours of Cantonese cuisine by adopting only the highest quality seasonal ingredients by Chef Tony Su.

Celebrated for his three decades of culinary expertise in luxury establishments, including Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai and Cordis Hongqiao, Chef Tony Su approaches Cantonese traditions with a philosophical lens. His culinary concepts, influenced by an insatiable curiosity about the distinctiveness of each region's culinary traditions, view food as a reflection of customs, climate, history, and cultural practices.

"T'ang Court's exclusive menu is a showcase of Cantonese flavours, highlighting seasonal delicacies and local produce,” said Chef Tony Su.

“A notable feature is the Cantonese braised crab claw wrapped in cuttlefish, a centuries-old delicacy with a modern twist. From wagyu beef with black truffle and mushrooms to crispy fried scallops enhanced with caviar, each dish captures the essence of T'ang Court's tradition while embracing innovative techniques,” said Chef Su.

The sensory feast extends beyond the plate. Gary Petzer, the hotel’s esteemed sommelier whose expertise led T’ang Court to triumph at the 2023 Australian Wine List Awards with two Glasses, will offer an optional, expertly paired wine selection to complement Chef Su’s unique flavour combinations.

The ambience of T’ang Court, adorned with bespoke abstract artworks by Australian-Chinese artist Lindy Lee, transports diners back to China’s Golden Age – the T’ang Dynasty. The restaurant's interiors, a blend of high-end furnishings and contemporary design, seamlessly complement the culturally immersive culinary journey it promises.

John O’Shea, General Manager of The Langham, Gold Coast, said the introduction of Chef Tony Su welcomes an opportunity for both local and interstate diners to palate the exquisite flavours of a global culinary mastermind for a limited-time offering.
