Hilton has announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station, the brand’s second property in Kyoto, Japan. Conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto Station, this new edition offers both business and leisure travellers a seamless blend of the city's rich cultural heritage alongside modern comfort and the warm hospitality that defines the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. Guests can expect to be immersed in the timeless charm of Kyoto while enjoying the brand's renowned warmth and thoughtful acts of caring throughout their stay.
This opening demonstrates Hilton’s commitment to continued expansion within Kyoto, a cultural capital that attracts travellers from around the world. The new hotel complements and extends Hilton’s presence in the city, joining DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama; ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts; and Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma. Hilton is also set to introduce its flagship brand, Hilton Kyoto, later this year.
"We are thrilled to open DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station in this world-renowned, culturally vibrant destination. As it joins our diverse portfolio in the city, ranging from luxury to focused service brands, we can now offer travellers an unrivalled range of accommodation," said Timothy Soper, area vice president, head of Japan, Korea and Micronesia, Hilton.
"We anticipate travel demand to further strengthen this year across the region, and look forward to providing our warm hospitality and thoughtful service to even more guests here in Kyoto."
DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station affords guests effortless access to the city’s famed historical landmarks, bustling dining scene, and extensive shopping districts. With its optimal location and train access, the hotel also serves as an ideal base for exploring neighbouring cities like Osaka, Kobe, and Nara.
“We are excited to open the second DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Kyoto, especially amid the bloom of beautiful cherry blossoms, a peak travel season for the city. Together with DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama, we look forward to delighting even more comfort-seeking guests with the brand’s renowned hospitality and warm welcome," said Vincent Ong, vice president, Brand Management, Full Service, Asia Pacific, Hilton.
"From our signature warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie welcome upon arrival to thoughtful amenities and comfortable accommodations, this new offering promises feel-good moments throughout their stay so guests leave feeling uplifted and inspired.”
The hotel’s interiors draw inspiration from the concept of ‘A Touch of Kyoto Essence’, where traditional craftsmanship, art and decorative elements result in a thoughtful blend of timeless techniques and contemporary style. From the ikebana-inspired flower vase in the entrance lobby to the café and lounge counter lined with tiles, every detail pays homage to the city's artistic heritage.
This design concept extends to the hotel’s guest rooms, with 16 accommodation types to suit varying traveller preferences. Rooms from the second to sixth floors exhibit a retro-modern design inspired by the city's historic charm, whereas Executive Rooms and Suites on the seventh floor and above offer guests a serene, classically designed retreat. The hotel also offers two types of 81-square-meter Suites, including Deluxe Tatami Suite Rooms for a complete cultural experience.
