Hotel Expansion Across Brisbane

Hotel Expansion Across Brisbane

Accor has added a new property to its Brisbane portfolio, marking the expansion of its network across the southeast Queensland region.

Australia’s largest hotel operator will now manage Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill, a four-star haven located in the city centre.

The hotel, with its commanding location overlooking the city skyline and Roma Street Parklands, is set to undergo a transformation.

This will align it with Mecure’s globally recognised brand calibre, ensuring a high standard of quality and service that will be unveiled by the end of 2024.

Adrian Williams, COO PM&E of Accor Pacific, said he was delighted to be working with the owners and adding to the group’s Brisbane portfolio.

This addition has come at a time of heightened interest in the city due to the upcoming Olympic Games in 2032 and record interstate migration.

“Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is in an excellent position overlooking the CBD, and the accommodation, which includes traditional rooms as well as one and two-bedroom suites that suit families, groups, and the corporate market well,” said Williams.

“The New York Times named the Sunshine State one of the world’s hottest travel destinations in 2024, so there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to travel and tourism to the Sunshine State. We’re fortunate in that we have a strong portfolio of hotels and brands to capture the travelling public.”

Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill is in a convenient location, within walking distance of the CBD and local cafes and restaurants.

Co-owner of Mercure, Sammy Singh, also spoke highly of the new deal and the opportunities it would bring.

“We are proud to partner with Accor on our first hotel project under the Mercure banner and are excited to upgrade the property,” said Singh.

“We feel there is huge growth potential in the Brisbane market, and having Accor as a partner and utilising their unrivalled distribution and loyalty platforms and operations expertise makes us feel very confident as we move into this new phase of diversification.”

The hotel features a restaurant, bar, meeting facilities, swimming pool and spacious guestrooms, including one and two-bedroom suites. The hotel promises to be a favoured option for leisure and corporate travellers, especially those who are coming to the city for major events.
