Bed and breakfast operators across New Zealand have been invited to connect and make their businesses more profitable.
The Bed and Breakfast Association has teamed up with Freeonlinebooking and Hoster to hold a Roadshow in seven locations around New Zealand between 31 July and 16 August. Registrations for the event are open now.
“With a focus on direct bookings, Natasha (Tash) Saxton from Freeonlinebooking and Donna Brooke from Hoster will lead the specialist workshops. We are very fortunate to have the support of these two seasoned professionals who bring immense expertise and experience with the B&B sector,” said association President Ann-Marie Johnson.
“B&B owners will learn strategies to maximise their room rates and increase direct bookings. From understanding pricing psychology to leveraging technology, participants will gain practical insights and actionable tips to elevate their business's profitability.”
The roadshow will make its first stop in Christchurch, before moving on to Wanaka, Nelson, Napier, Taupō, and Thames, before the last stop in Warkworth.
At the end of the workshop, B&B operators will know how to finetune their online booking system to ensure they’re attracting direct and commission-free bookings, develop marketing strategies to support their business decisions, and align these practices and strategies to the marketing directions of both their local Regional Tourism Organisation and Tourism New Zealand.
The Roadshow will run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, and will include updates from Tourism New Zealand and the host region RTO.
“Our previous Roadshow in 2022 was very successful. We really encourage all B&B operators to take advantage of this quieter time of year to work on improving their business, so they are prepared for the 2024-25 visitor season,” said Johnson.
The Roadshows are made possible with the help of a grant from the Hospitality Training Trust.
The Bed and Breakfast Association New Zealand represents and promotes home-hosted bed and breakfasts throughout the country - including homestays, farm stays, boutiques, and heritage and luxury accommodation providers.
