Portfolio Expansion for Choice Hotels

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, in conjunction with Choice Hotels Japan, has welcomed 22 new properties under the group’s flagship Comfort brand.

The new additions, signed under a management agreement with Hoshino Resorts REIT, extend the company's Japan portfolio to 96 properties in key destinations. During their two decades of collaboration, Choice Hotels Japan has made significant investments to establish its mid-scale dominance in the booming Japanese accommodation landscape.

“This agreement is a significant step forward for Choice Hotels Japan in an extremely competitive market,” said CEO Trent Fraser.

“As master franchisor, seeing bold deals like this come to fruition gives us further confidence we’ve selected the right business partner to help drive growth in Japan. We couldn’t be prouder, and we’re in full support of the Choice Hotels Japan team’s approach to seizing opportunities for expansion," Fraser added.

With domestic and inbound demand at an all-time high, Choice Hotels Japan President and Director Takeya Muraki is pleased to extend the group’s presence in key locations for business and leisure guests.

“We have more guests than ever seeking accommodation options across Japan and we’re  confident these new additions establish us as the brand of choice for travellers seeking  reliable, value for money accommodation,” said Muraki.

“The new portfolio additions are strategically situated to complement the locations of our  existing hotels and we’re looking forward to supporting Hoshina Resorts REIT to attract  guests in these high-demand areas.”

Choice Hotel Japan’s extensive portfolio covers all major cities in the country and has showcased the first Ascend Hotel Collection property in Asia, Hotel Around TAKAYAMA, launched in August last year. Additionally, the existing property Comfort Hotel Nagoya Meieki Minami was selected for the company's prestigious International Best of Choice Award at the group’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas in April.
