AUSTRALIA | The former Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens site will now be operated by EVT, committing to a total refurbishment of the property.
EVT has successfully entered a hotel management agreement to operate and elevate the former Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne, from 1 January 2026. Committing to a total refurbishment of the 184 guest rooms, food and beverage outlets and public areas, the elevated hotel will rebrand to Rydges Flagstaff Gardens upon completion in 2026.
After a competitive selection process, this partnership recognises EVT’s asset maximisation expertise and dedication to elevating hospitality experiences in its growing portfolio, with a focus on properties in key city locations.
Located in the northern precinct of Melbourne’s CBD overlooking Flagstaff Gardens, the soon-to-be-renovated hotel is central to the legal precinct and West CBD commercial area. Its prime position sees Queen Victoria Markets next door, with easy access to Marvel Stadium, Melbourne Central Shopping Centre and The District Docklands. Situated within the Free Tram Zone, the central location ensures the city’s best attractions are at guests’ doorsteps.
Peter Hill, Director of Development at EVT, shared his excitement for this new partnership.
“We are proud to have been chosen to take on the management of the Flagstaff Gardens property. At EVT, we pride ourselves on being well-credentialled, passionate hotel owners and operators, and look forward to adding value to this Goldquest property under the Rydges brand. The addition of this second quality upscale hotel completes EVT’s brand spread across the north west CBD precinct,” said Hill.
Neil Scanlan, National Director Hotels Colliers, on behalf of the owners, it was a thrill to have the opportunity to partner with EVT to elevate this property through a full refurbishment of the hotel, and relaunch as Rydges Flagstaff Gardens next year.
The hotel perfectly complements EVT’s flagship hotel, Rydges Melbourne, which is benchmarked as the refurbishment standard required to attain Rydges branding.
