Faradays, in partnership with Emett Group, will introduce a new all-day dining destination at the heart of Auckland's newest premium department store.
Lottie's will be the latest venture from Emett Group, led by Josh and Helen Emett, whose portfolio includes Auckland institutions Onslow and Gilt Brasserie. Zach Meads, who has been with Onslow for the past four years, will lead the kitchen as head chef.
The Emetts have always been drawn to heritage buildings with a story, and Lottie's will continue that philosophy, bringing together two businesses with a shared commitment to quality and creating exceptional experiences.
The restaurant has got its name from Charlotte Milne, one of the founding sisters of Auckland's iconic Milne & Choyce department store, paying tribute to the building's history while reimagining the tradition of department-store dining for a new generation.
For Helen Emett, the concept was deeply personal, inspired by childhood memories that shaped her understanding of hospitality.
"Some of my most cherished childhood memories are of staying with my grandparents in Marylebone. My grandmother would take me to Selfridges, where we'd spend the day wandering through the department store before stopping for lunch,” she said.
“I remember it feeling so special. It was such a treat, and I couldn't wait for my next visit. Those days left a lasting impression on me and inspired the kind of experience we wanted to create with Lottie's."
With Queen Street entering an exciting new chapter through the opening of the City Rail Link, renewed investment in the city centre and the arrival of world-class premium retailers, the partnership between Faradays and Emett Group represents a shared investment in Auckland's future and the creation of a destination precinct that extends well beyond retail.
"Great hospitality has always played an important role in creating vibrant city precincts," said Josh Emett.
"We see Lottie's as contributing to something much bigger than a restaurant opening. Together with Faradays, we're creating a destination where people come not only to shop, but to spend time, connect and experience the very best of the city."
Opening next month, Lottie's will be an integral part of the new three-level retail destination, bringing together premium fashion, beauty and dining under one roof.
