AUSTRALIA | Lanson Place Parliament Gardens has been awarded One MICHELIN Key, marking a milestone as the Melbourne hotel celebrates its second anniversary.
As Lanson Place’s first hotel in Australia, the recognition added a new chapter to a building already woven into Melbourne’s history. Set within the former 1901 Salvation Army Printing Works, the building has undergone an AUD 80 million redevelopment, breathing new life into a historic site after years of deterioration.
General Manager Marcus Packham said reaching the second anniversary with a MICHELIN Key was a proud moment for everyone at Lanson Place Parliament Gardens.
“From the beginning, our ambition has been to create a hotel that feels part of Melbourne, and somewhere guests can feel immediately at home,” said Packham.

Overlooking Parliament Gardens, the property has combined its original brick façade and arched windows with contemporary rooms and apartments. More than 450 works by Australian artists feature throughout the hotel, while Chronicle 502 Bar & Dining references the building’s printing heritage.
The137 accommodation options span hotel rooms, studios, apartments and penthouses, complemented by a 20-metre indoor heated swimming pool & spa and fitness centre.
The apartment-style accommodation sets the property apart from other five-star hotels, pairing fully equipped kitchens and in-room washer/dryers with the service and amenities of a five-star hotel.
