GOVERNMENT RAISES HONG KONG WARNING LEVEL

The New Zealand Government has raised its warning level for Kiwis travelling to Hong Kong, advising travellers to "exercise increased caution."

The decision comes in the wake of the city's ongoing protests and political unrest.

Fewer Kiwis are travelling to Hong Kong, with Flight Centre bookings dropping 25 percent in July compared to last year.

Earlier this week, Australia updated its travel advisory level, urging travellers to Hong Kong to "exercise a high degree of caution."
