Destination Queenstown has announced the appointment of Diana Mendes to the role of brand and marketing manager. Mendes brings over 10 years’ experience in marketing, brand management and communications to the role across a range of platforms and markets.
She has a strong understanding of Queenstown and the tourism industry having been based in Queenstown between 2006-2011 working in marketing for local businesses including Millbrook, Crowne Plaza, Good Group Ltd and Skyline. More recently she has held senior marketing roles in her native Brazil, including chief marketing officer for apparel brand basico.com and brand and marketing manager for Oppa.com.br. She has also been involved as a co-founder for an online start-up.
Mendes’ passion and enthusiasm for Queenstown, and the tourism industry, have led her back to Queenstown. Destination Queenstown marketing and communications director Sarah Stacey said she is delighted to welcome Mendes back to Queenstown, and into her role at DQ.
“Diana brings with her a range of great skills for this important role at DQ and will be a great addition to the team. Her strong experience and resourcefulness in the digital marketing space, as well as her understanding of Queenstown tourism, will stand her in good stead in her role with DQ,” Stacey said.
Mendes will commence her new role on 18 January.
