Based on Auckland’s North Shore, Mummy’s Yummys Homebaking was launched seven years ago by Ann-Marie Nicholas out of her passion for baking and sharing, as well as a rising demand for traditional home-baking.
What is your company background, how did you start the business?
“As lifestyles have become increasingly busy, we felt there was a gap in the market for good old-fashioned baking using good old-fashioned ingredients. What’s better than sharing some of your favourite childhood home-baked goods? When we started we hired a local A Grade certified kitchen; then, as the demand for our products grew, we decided to build an A grade kitchen at our residential property. Our motto is ‘fresh is best’, therefore we only bake to order.”
What are the current product range and variants and how do these products stand out in the market?
“We have a range of cakes, biscuits and slices.”
Has there been any recent company news?
“Last year my husband Darren officially joined the business, so we are now Mr & Mrs Mummy’s Yummys.”
What are the plans for the business moving forward, is there any expansion on the horizon?
“We are always looking to expand, but at the same time we want to continue delivering the high standard of quality and service that our customers are currently receiving. Wherever possible, we like to be face to face with our clients – thus giving the opportunity to build fantastic working relationships.”
Where are your products currently available to buy, and are you looking at or wanting to expand your availability? If so, where would you like to see the product situated?
“Currently, we supply a range of five products to all Farro Fresh markets – Nan’s Jammy Tarts, Choc Chip & Oat Cookies, Raspberry Moments, Coconut Creams. I do believe these are all unique products in the market. We also supply gift packs to several real estate agents for the buying and selling of properties for their clients, as well as client gifts of home baked products to corporate companies. We would like to extend some of our product range to high-end cafés and corporate companies. In the meantime, our products are available through our website.
