London’s Corinthia Hotel is putting aside the beauty therapists and personal trainers and has instead decided to appoint an in-house neuroscientist. Dr Tara Swart has devised a ‘brain-training’ regime, complete with massage, meditation, superfood meals and a whole range of sleep aids.
Dr Swart qualified as a doctor then trained as a neuroscientist, working as a psychiatrist before going into private practice as a sought-after consultant. Part of her residency at the Corinthia involves delivering lectures to guests on healthy lifestyle habits in order to improve sleep patterns.
A Brain Power Day Spa package at the Corinthia costs about NZD$500, while the overnight stay (including dinner, breakfast, massage and spa access) will set you back $1100. Regular guests are able to have sessions with Dr Swart, and a series of talks is accessible to non-residents.
