Wyndham Hotel Group has announced its building a new 63-room hotel in the Auckland central suburb of Newmarket. The Newmarket hotel will expand the consistently growing collection of Ramada hotels in New Zealand.
The project will cost approximately $22 million and will feature hotel units, studio units and one and two-bedroom apartments.
Barry Robinson, president of the Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim, cited a rise of tourism in the country as a reason for the expansion.
"The surge in demand for hotel rooms throughout New Zealand makes the country a key focus area for growth, and we're intent on strengthening our already-extensive presence in Auckland," he said.
Construction is due to begin later this year, with the opening planned for 2020.
