Marriott International has become the latest major hotel company to announce it will stop using plastic. The hotel chain has said that by next July it will have removed single-use plastics such as straws and stirrers in more than 6,500 of its properties.
The move will save approximately one billion plastic straws and 250 million stirrers per year and will offer alternatives on request.
