Moana Sands Lagoon Resort has opened on the world-famous Muri lagoon, Rarotonga.
The site initially underwent a ceremonial Cook Islands opening, where the site’s buildings were all blessed and anointed.
“Originally we had decided to build two family-homes on this land, but as the family already own homes on Rarotonga, it made sense to build a new Moana Sands complex to add to and complement the two other Moana Sands properties in Titikaveka,” said the owners.
“It will remain a legacy for our family and future generations. We are grateful for the support of landowning families who have been behind us from the beginning of the project”.
The 24-rooms are all housed on a two-story beachfront complex. All rooms get a lagoon-front view and are fitted out with modern Polynesian décor. With 22 Deluxe Lagoon Studios and two premium Lagoon Suites, the highlight of the resort is still the large saltwater swimming pool, featuring a sun lounging deck and a swim-up pool bar.
The site is now officially opened to the public. It joins Moana Sands Group’s portfolio which includes Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel and Moana Beachfront Villas, both also located in Rarotonga.
