MIXED RESULTS FOR ASIA PACIFIC IN JULY

The Asia Pacific region has had mixed results this July as compared to July 2017. According to a str report, occupancy rates (-0.9 percent), ADR (-0.3 percent) and RevPAR (-1.2 percent) all decreased in Australia and Oceania. Central and South Asia, as well as Southeastern Asia, had the best growth in the region, with RevPAR in the latter area going up five percent from last year. Overall the Asia Pacific region had occupancy rates decrease to 73.6 percent a -0.2 percent drop. Both ADR and RevPAR increased, however, with average ADR’s going up 1.6 percent and RevPAR going up 1.3 percent.

Across the globe, Central America had the biggest decrease in occupancy rate (-9.4 percent) and RevPAR (-8.2 percent), although its ADR was still rising.
