ACCORHOTELS RACE FOR A CAUSE

Accor race

Staff from AccorHotels in New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji will race against one another in a four-day charity event to raise money for Cure Kids Fiji. Over 100 competitors are gathering in Nadi to participate in the biennial event, involving hiking, kayaking, river crossing and other challenges.

The race begins at Novotel Nadi, with staff from the hotel and other Fiji AccorHotels properties guiding the competitors throughout the event. This year’s event is set to have special appearances from Kiwi Rugby Sevens’ stars DJ Forbes and Junior Tomasi Cama who will also join the race.

“We are incredibly proud of all the teams and our partners who are taking part in this event. It’s set to be a challenging and rewarding four days,” said Gillian Millar, senior vice president, AccorHotels New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia.

“Not only will the teams be competing physically they will also have the opportunity to experience first-hand the work of Cure Kids Fiji, and the incredible work their fundraising efforts will go towards. Our goal is to raise a million Fijian Dollars so Cure Kids Fiji can continue to make a difference to the lives of children in Fiji.”

Cure Kids Fiji works with local and international medical experts to provide oxygen for Fijian children with pneumonia and new-born illnesses. Oxygen cylinders in Fiji are expensive and prone to faults, so Cure Kids Fiji aims to supply health centres with oxygen concentrators which more effectively administer oxygen.
