IHG plans to double its Hotel Indigo portfolio

Hotel Indigo Berlin East Side Gallery, the 100th Hotel Indigo to open.

IHG has opened its 100th Hotel Indigo property, but that’s far from the end of the brand’s plans.

Hotel Indigo was established in 2004 and is now present in more than 15 countries with more than 50 hotels in the US, and over 30 in Europe.

With nearly 100 hotels in the pipeline, the Hotel Indigo portfolio is set to double in the coming three to five years. The brand will debut in ten more countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, UAE, Peru and India, as well as expanding its foothold in established markets likes the US and UK.

“Hotel Indigo is now at home in 100 different and vibrant neighbourhoods globally, which is an incredibly exciting milestone. While more than half of our current estate is in the US, we are set to grow significantly in new markets with almost half our new hotels due to open in our Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa region,” said Eric Lent, senior vice president, global marketing, upscale brands, IHG.

“The appetite for reliable, yet unique, boutique hotels continues to increase around the world, and Hotel Indigo is perfectly placed to take advantage of a design-led hotel with locally-inspired food and beverage, and the reassurance of a consistently upscale experience with the IHG name behind it.”
