HWCP’s Invercargill development includes hotel

Invercargill may be getting another hotel in the near future.

At a resource consent hearing, developers HWCP proposed plans to build a new hotel on the corner of Tay and Kelvin St.

For the project to go forward, the company would require approval to demolish and build its precinct in the block.

While the plan is still just a concept at this point, HWCP intends to develop a seven-storey hotel with 120 rooms at the site.

The hotel will be within walking distance of Invercargill Licensing Trust’s 'The Langlands' hotel which has already received resource consent.
