The Spanish Promise is Karen Swan’s latest page-turning novel. When Charlotte, a wealth counsellor from London is asked to help resolve a will issue in Spain, she believes the trip will be quick and pain-free. Although the timing isn’t great—she is set to get married the following week—she is ready to get this done and settle down.
The negotiations do not go as planned, and Charlotte is roped into a Spanish mystery spanning back to the Civil War. While immersed in the story, her own problems begin to catch up to her, and she must make some critical decisions if she is to retain the life she had planned for her.
